I find these photographs to be very interesting because although the subjects seem to be aware of the photographer, their unflattering gestures and facial expressions seem to prove otherwise. Candid pictures seem to be a bit of a rarity, but these seem to capture that sense. It’s probably especially difficult to take candid photographs because nowadays that photo can appear almost anywhere due to the internet. Everyone wants flattering pictures of themselves.
